Who we are
The Association was formed in 1960 by twelve of the country’s founding film houses to aid, assist, encourage and develop the motion picture industry in Pakistan in all suitable ways. More than six decades later that purpose is unchanged.
PFPA brings producers together in one recognised forum, a place to exchange views, discuss constructive programmes and promote goodwill across the profession. It safeguards and represents the rights and needs of film producers, procures just privileges and concessions for them, and cements working relations between members and the allied trades on which film production depends.
The Association’s jurisdiction extends across the whole of Pakistan, including the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Its registered office is in Lahore, with Circle Offices at Karachi and Peshawar and the power to open branch offices anywhere in the country.
PFPA is a non-profit body. Its income and property are applied solely towards the promotion of its objects, and no portion is paid to members by way of dividend or bonus.

Suggesting, supporting or opposing legislation affecting the film production industry, and pressing for changes and improvements in existing laws and regulations.
Discouraging, checking and rooting out unfair, illegal and unscrupulous practices likely to discredit film production work.
Providing a place of meeting where members can exchange views, discuss constructive programmes and promote goodwill.
